Frequently Asked Questions about Symphony Registration
Symphony supports the following contract vehicles: GSA = ALLIANT 3 ASTRO OASIS OASIS PLUS POLARIS DHA = HEC MQS-NG OMNIBUS (Legacy) MQS |
Why is registration required to use Symphony?
Users must register at the correct link for the contract vehicle to be activated and assigned appropriate permissions. Direct registration links are available at the top of the page.
Contract holders and offerors should refer to the Registering for Symphony article.
Can a user's email address be linked to more than one company?
No, an email address can only be linked to one company or organization per Symphony website. If a user is registering for multiple companies on the same Symphony website, they must register with a unique email address for each company.
Do not use a group email address (an account shared by multiple users) to register an additional account.
Where did the registration validation code email go?
If the registration validation email is missing, applicants should check their spam or trash folders and ensure the email address can receive messages. It may come from one of the following email addresses:
What company should one register for?
Applicants should register using the SAM.gov UEI (Unique Entity Identifier) and CAGE (Commercial and Government Entity) code for the company that is the prime offeror for a proposal.
- The UEI can also be for a Joint Venture Entity.
- If an applicant's company has a contract award, they should register with the contract holder’s UEI and CAGE code.
Can a user register with a subcontractor or JV Member's company?
No, users must register with the SAM UEI and CAGE code for the company that is the prime offeror for the proposal.
Subcontractors and Joint Venture members are added as Team Members in Symphony. (See Working with Team Members & MRCLs). Users cannot share their company assets across different UEIs, CAGE codes or contract vehicles.
Can a user register without the SAM UEI?
Symphony requires an active SAM record for registration.
- The SAM UEI and CAGE code are required to validate an active entity's information and eligibility to do business with the government.
- An entity with an "ID assigned" does not yet have an active SAM record and cannot be added to Symphony.
- A valid Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) code is required to validate a government organization (agency).
Can an applicant register without a CAGE code?
Yes, if the applicant's company has only one UEI associated with it's CAGE code. If more than one CAGE code is assigned to that UEI, the CAGE code must be entered.
Users who do not enter the CAGE code may be registered for the wrong company. If this happens, submit a ticket with the user's email address and provide the correct UEI/CAGE code for registration so we can move or revoke the account (see Figure 1).
Why is an organization missing?
Occasionally, SAM.gov is not available for the verification process.
- If a user receives an error message and cannot confirm their organization, they should retry registration shortly afterward.
- If this problem persists, check SAM.gov for notices regarding the system status.
- If the organization is a government agency, submit a ticket with the FPDS information.
What can be done about an incorrect registration?
- Submit a ticket with the user's email address
- Provide the correct UEI/CAGE or Agency Code for registration
- We can then move or revoke the account (see Figure 1).

Can a user request changing multiple email addresses for an organization or must each person make an individual request?
We can move accounts individually or as a group to the desired organization (UEI and CAGE code).
